You captured the essence of this topic so masterfully, yet so simply that anyone could understand. And even though I am much older than you, your message resonated with me. I look forward to reading more of your posts. ~BarbaraAunt Babshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12111600230291075062noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3287942833314297300.post-34155841834157198822016-08-10T11:24:12.428-05:002016-08-10T11:24:12.428-05:00I do have a van, but my PAs at school can't as...I do have a van, but my PAs at school can't assist me outside of the dorm unless I pay out of pocket, and some people aren't comfortable driving the van. That has allowed me to be a little more spontaneous. However, like you I still have to worry about shift changes. I can't go to lunch at 12:30pm because there is a shift change at 1pm unless I want to be alone for an hour. I also hear you about food or drinks. I try to always read the menu beforehand and make sure there is something I can eat. Maybe it's a pride thing, but I don't like to be fed in front of my friends. Likewise I also have to be careful how much I drink if I'm going to be attendant less. You mention soda, but alcohol is even worse haha. It helps me be a little more spontaneous although like you I still have to plan for a shift change. So I can never go out to lunch around 12:30 because there is a shift change at 1pm so I would be alone for an hour. I also hear you about planning what to eat and drink. I also try to make sure the restaurants my friends chose have something for me to eat by myself. Maybe it's a pride thing, but I don't want to be fed in front of my friends. I've also had problems with the bathroom thing from time to time.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3287942833314297300.post-20506562620912000462016-08-10T10:11:37.877-05:002016-08-10T10:11:37.877-05:00Have you ever considered getting a handicapped acc...Have you ever considered getting a handicapped accessible van and having your personal attendants drive you places?
